Chinmaya Jeevan Darshan (CJD) is a creative audio-visual depiction of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda’s life, vision, work and teachings. The beautifully-planned experiential monument is a means to bring awareness about Pujya Gurudev among people at large, blending Spirituality, Art and Technology in a unique way.
CJD takes the experiencer on a journey through Pujya Gurudev’s life – from a young child in Kerala to an inquisitive youngster; to an accomplished student; as a passionate freedom-fighter; becoming an earnest seeker, a tireless worker and a Vedantic Master who led the worldwide movement of Chinmaya Mission, transforming and uplifting lives.
The monument is as much a treat for the Mission members and devotees as it is for those who may have never been exposed to the Chinmaya Mission, nor indeed even heard before the name of Swami Chinmayananda. Irrespective of their age and background, the monument has something to offer to everyone, every time they visit CJD.
There is an interactive pre-recorded narrative available on the individual guidePort receiver which each visitor receives before the start of the journey. This enhances the experience and makes it even more intimate and personal for the visitor.
The CJD experience includes large-sized colourful murals, the profound words of wisdom of Pujya Gurudev on quote boards, and photos spanning from Pujya Gurudev’s childhood to Mahasamadhi. Not only this, the visitor can feel His presence through the “You Ask He Answers” section on the touch-screen kiosks, by actually hearing and seeing Pujya Gurudev Himself answering the spiritual questions of the seeker.
There are two domes in Chinmaya Jeevan Darshan, each presenting the 108 names of Pujya Gurudev in a unique and special way. Well, we won’t tell you all about it here. You have to visit CJD and experience it yourself. There is a larger-than-life polymer statue in CJD but the highlight for many is the breathtakingly life-like wax statue of Pujya Gurudev, seated in a sanctum where visitors may offer prostrations.
There is all this and much, much more! Every step of the Chinmaya Jeevan Darshan journey takes the seeker closer to understanding just who Swami Chinmayananda is and what He has accomplished. Chinmaya Jeevan Darshan is a tribute to His glory and an offering of love unto Him.
