On the 8th of May Chinmaya Mission Melbourne had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate Gurudev Jayanthi in the presence of Pujya Swami Swaroopanandaji. The evening programme began with the melodious bhajans on Gurudev by the Melbourne Swaranjali. Swami Aparokshanandaji, from Melbourne, then went on to conduct Gurudev’s paduka puja. It was a real treat when Pujya Swamiji began narrating His experiences with Gurudev.
From describing Gurudev’s tall stature, His stately walk and deep and rich laughter, all devotees present were hanging onto every word. Pujya Swamiji painted the picture of Gurudev as He saw Him and we began to get glimpses of that giant of a man who surrounded everyone He met with pure love and acceptance. The evening satsang was then concluded with a guided meditation. As we closed our eyes, our minds quiet and hearts full, we could not help but feel blessed as our Pujya Swamiji led us to His Guru.
