BHOOMI PUJAN REPORT

Chinmaya Vibhuti is an offering to our Gurudev, Swami Chinmayananda. This beautiful project will come up at Kolvan, near Pune. The Sahyadri range of mountains that will soon be transformed, surrounds this piece of picturesque land, which is about 50 acres, into an International Centre for Studying and Training. I am sure; we all devotees will join hands with Guruji, Swami Tejomayananda and make this offering to Gurudev a supreme one.

The bhoomi puja was performed on the 7th February 2003 at 9.30 am. The Chinmaya Mission members from Pune, Chinchwad, Thane, Mulund, and Mumbai, welcomed Swami Tejomayananda, Swami Brahamananda, Swami Subhodananda, Swami Swarupananda, Swami Bhaskarananda and Swami Ishwarananda with Purna Kumbha. There after the function started with Swami Tejomayananda taking the ‘Sankalp’ and the CCMT Trustees Shri Pratapbhai Patel and Shri H.K. Hinduja along with their wives performed the Puja. Puja over, Swami Tejomayananda did the ‘shagun’ of ‘Ground-Breaking’ which was followed by all other Swamis, Trustees and other Chinmaya Mission members.

Pune Chinmaya Mission member Shri Tushar Kabur, then invited all the Swamis to the dais and were given floral tributes. All the Brahamacharis who had come from various centres were also recognized with flowers. The selfless workers advocate Shri Pradeep Khire, Shri Athavle, Shri Patil of the Kolwan Village and Shri Chintamani Mengre were felicitated for their kind help in procuring the land.

Now it was the turn of all the Swamis to bless the project. Swami Brahamananda said that the day’s ‘mahurat’ was very auspicious as all the planets were in their right places. He also said that just as Lord Krishna has mentioned the Vibhutis in the 10th Chapter of Geeta, our Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda too is a ‘Vibhuti’ a divine manifestation. He told us that whenever Gurudev was asked to come for any functions, He said "I am always there, sitting in some corner with you".

Swami Swarupananda quoted from ‘Japuji Sahib’, "Jinn Seviyan tin Paiyan" (Those who serve will benefit). He requested all the Chinmaya Mission members, worldwide to put in his or her every bit to make this project a great success.

All the other Swamis gave their blessings and Swami Ishwarananda after telling a story said that now "It is all in your hands".

Pujya Guruji gave a bird’s eye view of the activities that would take place at this Centre. To begin with, Gurudev’s life time work will be depicted in a Multi-media exhibition Centre on the lines of exhibition at 50th Anniversary celebration of Chinmaya Movement. A training centre for teachers and workers, a conference hall with capacity for 2000 persons or may be more and accomodation along with boarding, a theme campsite for Balvihar children and Chyks.

Since the land has a hillock a Temple and huge Ganpati idol are also envisaged. A ‘Mauni Ashram’ is also planned, where devotees can sit quietly and contemplate.

Guruji while ending his talk narrated a story, where in ten successful men in the world were once interviewed and asked for the reason of their success. Seven of them said that it is due to their hard work. Two said that it is due to teamwork, and the last one said it was the Grace of The Lord. Pujya Guruji said that this project needs all the three kind of workers, along with the blessings to make the project a success.

Central Chinmaya Mission Trust, has appointed a committee of 3 Trustees, Shri K.P. Daswani, Shri H.K. Hinduja and Shri Pratapbhai Patel, and Pujya Guruji asked them to show their ‘Pratap". Guruji also remembered Late Shri Jamnadas Moorjhani, who was instrumental in conceptualizing the idea.

The function ended with a vote of thanks by Shri Tushar and there after with Aarti, Shantipath and Chinmaya Mission Pledge.
