Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital Management and Health Care Services
Objectives of the course:
The candidates at the end of the programme will be able to:
1. Describe the existing structure and functioning of the hospitals in the country
2. Identify the managerial problems and processes associated with the system
3. Utilise various management concepts/techniques/tools and resources to improve the functioning of the system
4. Apply the managerial concepts to develop the hospitals and
5. Further strengthen the concept of professional hospital management in the country.
Eligibility:
Candidates with 40 percent of marks in aggregate in Bachelor's Degree of a recognised University are eligible for admission. Candidates studying in a regular course of study in any discipline are not eligible for admission. Preference will be given to candidates sponsored by a business or industrial concern.
Duration of the course: One Academic Year.
Fee Details: Rs. 25000/-
Attendance: 75% of the attendance is must for attending the exam.

Practical Component:
This element of the course will help the students in getting practically exposed to various departments in hospitals and also facilitate them in learning several aspects like planning, functions, staffing pattern and various problems faced in the departments.
Practical Classes:
Each student will be posted in various departments in the hospital for one-week duration, where they will be learning the functioning of the department practically. At the end of the posting each student shall prepare report & present her / his observations.
Internal Assessment:
Internal Assessment marks are given based on the Internal Assessment Examinations conducted and on the marks obtained for Practical Reports & Presentations.
Scheme of Examination: University exam will be at the end of the academic year.
Successful candidates securing not less than 60% of aggregate marks shall be declared FIRST CLASS, 50% & above but below 60% of aggregate marks shall be declared SECOND CLASS provided they have passed the examination in every subject at the first appearance and other successful candidates shall be declared as PASS CLASS.
