Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital Management and Health Care Management

The free market economy has resulted in range of choices for consumers and increased competition for providers. Health care sector is one of the fastest growing sectors. Existing healthcare organizations are expanding by opening hospitals in new service areas
New organizations are entering with latest technology, state-of-art equipment and market strategies. Thus leading to competition in the health care sector. Consequently, health Care Providers are increasingly confronted with judicious management. The programme tries to meet this necessary by providing trained managers for this job.

Hospitals play a critical role in improving the health status of the society and they are the backbone of the healthcare delivery system.

The programme provides a generalist perspective which enables students to view the hospitals in a holistic manner as well as place it in the context of the larger demand for healthcare services. While the programme is based on the standard model of management education as practiced by top ranking institutions, this programme is distinguished by its rigour and discipline and the strong emphasis on hospital based learning.

Goal: The one-year programme is a flagship educational programme aimed at developing competent and committed personnel who can create favorable environment in hospitals for providing quality healthcare based on ethical values with passion and compassion educational, and charitable activities, ennobling the lives of thousands in India and worldwide.

Objectives of the course:

The candidates at the end of the programme will be able to:

  1. Describe the existing structure and functioning of the hospitals in the country
  2. Identify the managerial problems and processes associated with the system
  3. Utilise various management concepts/techniques/tools and resources to improve the functioning of the system
  4. Apply the managerial concepts to develop the hospitals and
  5. Further strengthen the concept of professional hospital management in the country.
