Inaugaral ceremony of the Seventh Khel Milan at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro

7th Khel Milan inaugurated with grandeur pomp and show

With the grace of Param Pujya Gurudev Brahmleen Swami Chinmayanandji, Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayanandji and Mukhya Swamiji Swami Sawroopanandji, 7th All India Chinmaya Khel Milan 2017 was inaugurated under the aegis of CCMTEC on 3rd November 2017. It was a spectacular show as Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro offered a serene and cozy environment to warmly welcome the family members across the nation of our Chinmaya fraternity. There were 32 teams from different Chinmaya Vidyalayas and a total number of 371 participants along with their coaches and managers who witnessed this grand Inauguration Ceremony.

The tournament was inaugurated by Shri Amar Kumar Bauri, Cabinet Minister Land and Revenue, Arts & Culture, Tourism, Sports and Youth Affairs (Govt. of Jharkhand). He was welcomed by Dr. Ashok Singh Principal, CV, Bokaro, while the children chanted the Shlokas from Bhagwad Geeta Chapter 17. The traditional Tilak Mishri was offered to the Chief Guest and other dignitaries along with presentation of bouquets by the members of Students Council. Mr. N C Pandey, Asst. Manager, ONGC, Bokaro was the Guest of Honour. This was followed by hoisting the Chinmaya Vidyalaya Flag.

In his address Shri Amar Kumar Bauri said that it was an emotional moment for him as he was standing on the same dais that was twice used by Our Former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam during his visit to the Vidyalaya. He suggested that this stage should be named after that great Leader who is no more among us. He also said that it is his privilege that a generation of his family has received education from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro. He also paid his homage to Param Pujya Gurudev Brahmleen Swami Chinmayanandji and called Him a great Visionary Master.

He inspected the March Past ceremony in which the participating Vidyalayas marched in synchronization honouring the Dignitries. The Welcome address was delivered by Dr. Ashok Singh. The cultural programme began with a dance performance based on Guru Strotam to offer salutation to our Great Master. Then there were a series of dances and songs based on the theme of sports and culture of India. The tiny tots mesmerized the Guests and the audience with their breath taking performances. There was a folk dance of Jharkhand, based on Festival of Karma.

The Chief Guest then declared the Meet Open and released balloons with other dignitaries. Shri Mahesh Tripathi, Secretary, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro presented a Memento to Shri Amar Kumar Bauri as a token of Love. The Vote of Thanks was Proposed by Mr. A K Jha, Vice Principal, CV, Bokaro.

On Opening day, the Kabaddi tournament started at three courts and all the 32 teams have joined the League matches. the matches are organized in 4 categories viz. Under 16 and Under 14 Boys and Under 16 and Under 14 Girls. After the League rounds the semi-final and the final matches will be organised on 5th November.
