Swami Nikhilananda and Swamini Amitananda led 27 campers in the daily study of Kathopanishad and Kapil Geeta, from 23rd to 29th May 2010, in a camp organised by Chinmaya Vibhooti. The camp was made up of a small and intimate group of seekers all of whom participated very enthusiastically in all of the sessions of the camp. The classes took place at the mini-theatre, Vidya Mandir, located in the conferencing area of Chinmaya Vibhooti.
The campers were captivated by the stories of Nachiketas as Lord Yama revealed the secret knowledge of the Self to him. Equally fascinating was the exposition of Kapil Geeta and its linking of Jnana and Bhakti as explained by Kapil Muni to his mother, Devahuti.
Campers were enthralled by their visit to Chinmaya Jeevan Darshan, with many making a repeat visit during their weeklong stay. 19 members of the Deuladiha (Orissa) Samaj Sevak course joined in for the activities on 28th May.
Campers, Samaj Sevaks and Chinmaya Vibhooti residents were treated to a post-dinner musical journey by Chinmaya Naada Bindu. This beautiful programme included bhajans and classical pieces by Smt Pramodini Rao and Shobha Iyer and a flute piece by Shri Himanshu Nanda, with Shri Chittaranjan Rao accompanying on tabla.
The camp concluded on 29th May with a paduka puja, the camp’s success thereby being dedicated at the feet of Pujya Gurudev.
