Pujya Guruji’s Upanishad Ganga Yagna at Singapore

The devotees of Chinmaya Seva Centre Singapore were blessed to witness a memorably divine experience, as Pujya Guruji conducted the Gyan Yagna on Upanishad Ganga at PGP Auditorium. After months of rising anticipation; Guruji’s soothing presence was like a cool shower of compassionate grace that soaked everyone in the bliss of satsang. Interspersed with Guruji’s devotional naam-sankeertana, his uplifting discourses and thought provoking episodes from the TV serial Upanishad Ganga; this was truly an experience of a lifetime. Guruji spoke on three topics, namely “Dharma” (duty), “Grihasthashram” (married life) and “Kritagyata” (gratitude). Guruji’s simple yet lucid explanations left the audience overwhelmed with joy, as they heard in rapt attention and in awe of Pujya Guruji’s ability to explain the subtlest of topics with such clarity and depth.

As Guruji arrived at the newly constructed PGP auditorium, children of Balvihar lined up to welcome and usher him all the way. Amidst sacred chants by temple priests and a melodious Nadaswaram performance, Pujya Guruji was given a rousing welcome at the venue. On stage, Pujya Guruji was offered the Poorna Kumbha by committee members of Chinmaya Seva Centre Singapore. The traditional lamp was lit to mark the inauguration of the Yagna by Pujya Guruji along with Chairman of Hindu Endowment Board – Mr.Jayachandran and chairman of Hindu Advisory Board – Mr.Rajan Krishnan. Subsequently the eminent Mr.Satpal Khattar and President of Chinmaya Seva Centre Singapore – Mr.Chandru Bharwani felicitated Pujya Guruji on stage, in honour of his being conferred the prestigious Padma Bhushan award. Honorary Secretary Mrs Nirmala Bharwani gave the opening speech and welcome address while Trustee Mr.Rajan Bharvani offered the vote of thanks on the culminating day. The daily program was compered by Mrs. Misha Iyer.

On 3rd April, “Badrinath” – a beautiful dance ballet depicting the spiritual journey of Pujya Gurudev and all our Masters was performed by members of “Shrutilaya” and devotees of CSC Singapore. Under the guidance of Brni. Vishakaha Chaitanya, “Badrinath” was a culmination of the 108 times Vishnu Sahasranama Chanting undertaken by devotees during the BCC year. It was a truly delightful and inspiring experience for everyone to watch.

During the course of Pujya Guruji’s visit, he also met and interacted with various groups namely the Balvihar sevikas, Study group members, Sevaks, Volunteers and members of CSC executive Committee.

An emotionally moving event was when Balvihar children performed “Pitra Puja” as a worship of their fathers.

Guruji sprinkled everyone in Singapore with unforgettable moments of love, joy and devotion. His divine presence brought everyone closer, giving us an opportunity to meet every day and serve Pujya Gurudev’s Vision in a truly Yagna spirit. The effortless sewa and beaming faces of all volunteers was a sign of true fulfilment that such an event can bring about. It was wonderful to also have the Acharya of Chinmaya Mission Hong Kong Swamini Supriyananda who graced the event during Pujya Guruji’s visit.
