Report on Chinmaya Jyoti Yatra, Tirunelveli

Chinmaya Mission, Tirunelveli had the blessings and fortune to receive the Chinmaya Sandesh Vahini on 27.05.2015

Morning Programme:
The CSV was received with a Poornakumbham at 10.00 a.m. by Sri. Natesanji, devotee of Gurudev and MD of Arasan Group of Companies. The Chinmaya Jyoti, Gurudev’s paduka and the Coins released by the Govt. of India were given a red carpet welcome and taken to the stage where the inaugural function was conducted.

Swami Mitrananda, Swami Shridharananda, Yatiswari Saravanabhava priya Amba, Sri Natesan, Sri Maheswaran and Smt. Jaya Neelakandan were present in the dais. The function started with prayer by Balvihar child Srivatsan. Smt. Jaya Neelakandan, the first correspondent of the Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Tirunelveli graced the occasion and lighted the lamp. It was followed by awarding the long time sevaks of Chinmaya Mission, Tirunelveli. Sri. Maheswaran, Correspondent of CV gave his presidential address and presented a cheque of Rupees One Lakh as Guru Dakshina for the CSV. Then Smt. Jaya Neelakandan, Sri. Natesan and Smt. Venkatalakshmi Kollappan shared their experiences with Gurudev.
It was an emotional moment for the speakers when they talked about Gurudev’s love for them and inspirational moment for the audience. Yatiswari Saravanabhavapriya Amba of Sri Ramakrishna Tapovanam, Tiruparaithurai was the Chief Guest for the function. Amba blessed the audience with her benedictory address in which she praised Gurudev as personification of Bhagavad Geeta.
Concluding Speech was given by our Swami Shridharanandaji. Swamiji inspired the school children in his own way through a story. Vote of Thanks was delivered by Br. Jitesh Chaitanya which was followed by cultural programmes by students of Chinmaya Vidyalaya and Sri Jayendra Saraswati Swamigal Golden Jubilee Hr. Sec School. Around 200 children and 50 teachers of Pushpalatha School and around 250 children and all the teachers of CV had the fortune to visit the CSV and the Yagnatorium. Children thoroughly enjoyed the Yagnatorium. They all understood and appreciated that in Hinduism, God is One, but His forms are many.
Swami Anukulananda took a session for the CV, Tirunelveli teachers. Yuvaveers and Acharyas who escorted the CSV explained the mobile exhibition and the yagnatorium to the children. Swami Aksharanandaji, Br. Vignesh Chaitanyaji, Br. Paramesh Chaitanyaji, Members of Chinmaya Mission, Students from earlier batches of CV, Tirunelveli who are now professionals in different fields were also present for the function.

Evening Programme:
In the evening, the CSV was taken to Nellai Sangeetha Sabha where a public programme was arranged. The evening programme started with a prayer at 6.00 p.m. and followed by Guru Paduka Pooja and Arati. Swami Shridharanandaji explained the greatness of Bhagavad Geeta and Gurudev through a verse in Bhaja Govindam. Then, the audience had the opportunity to watch and listen to Gurudev through a video talk on “Serve your Self”. Most of the public who attended the programme were blessed to listen to Gurudev directly and they were all spellbound to listen to Him through video after a long time.
The programme was followed by a musical concert by Smt. Ranjani and Smt. Gayathri on the concept of Guru Anjali. The singers mesmerised the audience with their sweet and devotional voice. Booklets were given to the public as Prasad.
Food was arranged for the volunteers for the whole day. Smt. Venkatalakshmi Kollappan and Sri. Santhana Krishnan were the pillars of the programme. Venkatalakshmi amma is the ex-principal of CV, Tirunelveli. Inspite of age and health issues, amma worked tirelessly and collected around Rupees Three Lakhs for the programme from old students of CV who are now living in different parts of the world. Sri. Santhana Krishnan is an alumni of CV, Tirunelveli and son of Sri. Natesanji. He took the entire responsibility on his shoulders and worked day & night for the past one month and organised the event in a meticulous way. Smt. Subbulakshmy and Smt. Meenakshi Ramkumar supported in organising the event. Smt. Subbulakshmy co-ordinated the entire programme and Smt. Meenakshi handled the accounts. CV, Tirunelveli extended their full support and co-operation for the programme. Massive advertisement campaign was carried out for the event through newspapers and flex banners all around the city. With the blessings of Pujya Gurudev and Pujya Guruji, the event turned out be a great success. It will definitely be a milestone for Chinmaya Mission, Tirunelveli.
