Chinmaya Ashram in Lakshmanpur, near Rewa was visualised by Pujya Swami Chinmayananda as a Pitamaha Sadan. It is meant for people over the age of 60 years.
Under Swamiji's instructions the Shri Rama Temple was built in the centre of the Pitamaha Sadan. Shri Kashi Shilpi of Mysore was commissioned to build the temple. The main idols are a replica of those installed at the Rama Mandir in Sidhbari. The Utsav murtis are also very similar to those at Sidhbari.
Pujya Gurdev gave the hanging lamps that illumine the main idols, along with detailed instructions as to their placements.
