Chinmaya Mission Toronto officially moved into its new home on 12th July 1998 with the inauguration of 'Chinmaya Shivalaya' in the presence of Swami Shantananda from Chinmaya Mission Princeton.

This shrine with a resplendent idol of Lord Shiva, is the only shrine built by Chinmaya Mission in Canada.

In July 2003 Chinmaya Mission Toronto purchased a vast property and Lord Shiva was moved to the new Chinmaya Shivalaya centre. This new centre was inaugurated by Swami Tejomayananda.
