Youth Convention – Chinmaya Mission Port Blair

The Global Head of Chinmaya Mission Swami Tejomayananda addressing a youth convention at the Mission’s Auditorium said that the process of nation building begins with  inculcating good values in ourselves and working for the welfare of the society. He addressed around 250 students participating from different educational institutions. Swamiji emphasised that the most difficult thing is changing ourselves. The Youth convention was organised as a part of birth Param Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda’s birth centenary celebration.

Speaking on the topic “the role of youth in nation building”, Swamiji mentioned that
nation building is a continuous process and everyone has to contribute according
to their capacity and position. Swamiji further elaborated that the future of country is in the
hands of youth and their actions and thinking shall play a great role in making of future
lndia. Swamiji requested students to work hard and be sensitive to the society and people around them. Giving examples of great spiritual leaders and freedom fighters, Swamiji pointed out that were all successful because they stood for their values.

Replying to the questions asked by a few students, he opined that we must have faith in our culture and heritage.

Dr. R.N.Rath, Ex-Principal of Mahatma Gandhi Collage Mayabander also spoke on
this occasion. Earlier the Coordinator of the Chinmaya Yuva Kendra, Port Blair Shri
Murli Krishna gave the welcome speech. Vote of thanks was given by Swami
Shuddhananda of Chinmaya Mission, Port Blair.
