Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda

SWAMI CHINMAYANANDA
worked for the joy of working…
immersed in the moment…
alive to the present.
No clinging attachments to any
labour…effort…people…place…past…future.

Often asked what would happen
to this huge Mission after he had gone?
With total lack of concern…he would say that
HE HAD DONE HIS WORK AND
DEDICATED IT TO THE LORD.
If his disciples and devotees wanted
to continue the work, they would do so.

HIS SURRENDER BEING TOTAL…
his detachment was also complete.
Gurudev had detachment even
toward his own body.

I have seen him sitting happily in
a chilled air-conditioned room.
A room so cold that I could not bear it.
I also have seen him in the sweltering heat
sweating on the railway platform
in Allahabad…
sitting patiently…without any complaint.

GURUDEV SAW ONLY
OUR AVAILABILITY.

It was his job to inspire…
empower…enlighten…educate.
He taught me each and everything.

His greatness lay in not only
identifying capability and entrusting
the right person to the right job…

but being able to encourage and inspire
even those who lacked adequate
capability or talent to produce amazing results.

SUCH WAS HIS GLORY!
