1. Flagging Off: On 8th May 2015, the CBCC (Chinmaya Birth Centenary Celebrations) will be flagged off with a grand program in Ernakulam, the birth place of Pujya Gurudev. The celebrations will begin on 6th May and conclude on the evening of 8th May at 7.30 p.m. – the birth time of Pujya Gurudev. A lamp with Gurudev’s ‘Om’ signature will be lit by the devotees world over at that auspicious time, along with a prayer. After that the Mission Pledge and a world anthem for transformation will be chanted. 2. Chinmaya Jyoti: A jyoti yatra will start from Ernakulam on May 8th and reach Sidhbari on August 3rd. It will travel through a particular route and will be handed over to the centres that are on the way. There will be various programs en route and material relating to Gurudev’s life and work will be distributed. Similarly, jyotis (lighted lamps) will be brought from places like Kashmir, Kutch and Assam to Sidhbari. And finally, the lamp will be brought to Chinmaya Vibhooti and kept there as an akhanda jyoti, kept burning forever, reminding us to keep his vision glowing always. 3. Gita Chanting Competition: The centenary year will see the Gita Chanting Competition conducted for all age groups on Chapter 15. It will be held at the city, state and national levels and the finals will be held in 2015. The purpose is that one learns to chant first, then reflect on the meaning and finally, live the ideals thus learnt. 4. Film and Ballet on Gurudev’s Life: A short film and a dance ballet on Pujya Gurudev’s life and work will be produced. 5. Chinmaya Vidya Nagari: For the benefit of devotees from all over Europe, a spiritual centre along the lines of Chinmaya Vibhooti, called Chinmaya Vidya Nagari – a knowledge city is being planned. 6. Special Centenary Camps: Starting from 2014, Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda shall hold camps in various ashrams all over India in co-ordination with the respective local acharyas. These camps will be bi-lingual – in English and the regional language. Similarly, camps for students will be held at CIRS (Chinmaya International Residential School). 7. Quiz on Mananam CBCC Series: Chinmaya Family Quiz for various age groups may be organized on He Did It and one more book of the Mananam CBCC series.
