Introduction

Chinmaya Mission Miami (CM Miami) is a satellite center of Chinmaya Mission Orlando. Chinmaya Mission activities in South Florida began in the 1970s through the dedicated work of Laju Barucha and Daksha Vakharia, who conducted Study Groups and Chinmaya Bala Vihar, and organized various jnana yajnas for the South Florida community. Around 1988, Pujya Gurudev had a three-hour stopover in Miami, during which time, he visited a devotee’s home in South Miami, where many blessed devotees came to see him. This was Pujya Gurudev’s first and last visit to Miami.
