Chinmaya Ashram is a Pitamaha Sadan (ashram for senior citizens) offering residents a conducive quiet serene atmosphere for meditation and contemplation. The ashram was established by Pujya Swami Chinmayananda in 1983 in the village of Lakshmanpur 13 km from Rewa.
The ashram is on a 3-acre campus. The residential accommodation, dining hall, library, office and dispensary are all grouped around the temple.
The Pitamaha Sadan allows the resident elders to sincerely pursue their sadhana and live a true vanaprasthi life. The accommodation provided, the food served, the daily sessions of study and contemplation, the punctual routine and the relaxed tension-free life help the sadhak to undertake the journey and attain that bliss which wealth or power cannot provide.
Accommodation options vary from dormitory style to self-contained rooms. There is a library with an interesting collection of books. Meals consist of simple vegetarian food. A doctor visits the ashram daily. Rewa has good medical facilities if required.
Shri Raghunathji Temple
The temple is dedicated to Lord Rama and Mother Sita. The main idols in the temple are a replica of those installed at Rama Mandir in Sidhbari. The temple is in the centre of the Pitamaha Sadan.
