About the Temple

Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda's first visit to Hong Kong was in 1965. Frequent visits started from 1988 and on 21st April 1991 the Chinmaya Seva Ashram was formally inaugurated. The most enchanting idol of Lord Krishna as Kaliya Nartana Krishna was installed by Pujya Gurudev. The idol is made of pancha loha, ie, five metals and is coated with silver. Gurudev's message to the devotees was: "The snake with many heads represents our mind with many thoughts. Let Krishna dance on every head in every thought crushing the ego with his might and vomiting out all its poison". May Lord Krishna dance in all our thoughts. 21st April 1991.
