On 17 January 2026, over 5,000 devotees gathered at Barku Patil Udyan in Mulund to chant the 15th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita together, creating a shared space of devotion and inner transformation. The Samashti Gita Chanting programme, organised by Chinmaya Mission Mulund, was part of the Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav, celebrating 75 years of the Chinmaya Movement.
Held in the presence of Swami Swaroopananda, the Global Head of Chinmaya Mission, and many other Swamins, the gathering saw participation of about 1,500 students from 25 different schools, reflecting Chinmaya Mission's commitment to nurturing values in young minds. The chanting was led by 90 students, including the winners of Chinmaya Mission's Gita Chanting Competitions from various regions.
Addressing the event, Swami Swaroopananda noted, "When thousands chant together, it moves beyond philosophy and becomes a shared inner experience. As Chinmaya Mission completes 75 years, this collective chanting reflects the timeless power of the Gita to bring clarity, strength and oneness to society."
In a divine atmosphere filled with chanting and bhajans, a short film depicting the life and times of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, along with a specially curated light-and-laser presentation, was received with awe.
Living up to the Chinmaya vision of taking the eternal wisdom of the Gita from scriptures into everyday life, the event truly transformed devotion into a lived experience.
