
COUVA — In a heartwarming display of community spirit and cultural devotion, the Honourable Barry Padarath, Minister of Public Utilities and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, joined the staff and students of Chinmaya Vidyalaya Schools – TT on Friday 23rd January 2026 to observe the sacred festival of Saraswati Puja.
Accompanied by his daughter, the Minister participated in the traditional rituals led by the Spiritual Head of Chinmaya Mission Trinidad and Tobago, Pujya Swami Prakashananda. The event served as a powerful reminder of the nation’s commitment to the values of knowledge, wisdom, and the pursuit of lifelong learning.

Saraswati Puja, dedicated to the Goddess of Learning, is a significant event in the Hindu calendar, marking the invocation of divine guidance for students and educators alike. Minister Padarath, a long-standing advocate for youth development and community integration, highlighted the importance of such traditions in shaping the moral fabric of the next generation.
"Education is the foundation upon which our nation is built, but it is wisdom and character that sustain us," the Minister noted during a brief address.
