Vedic and Gita Chanting

Chinmaya Mission regards chanting as a powerful and transformative path to inner stillness, clarity of thought and spiritual growth.

Through the sacred vibrations of Vedic and Gita chanting, aspirants connect with ancient wisdom in a deeply experiential way. These practices cultivate discipline, concentration and devotion, guiding individuals towards greater self-awareness.

Chanting is not merely a ritual — it is a sadhana, a spiritual discipline that refines the mind and opens the heart.

When children, youth and adults chant the Bhagavad Gita together, they participate in a living tradition that has shaped India's spiritual consciousness for millennia.

The year 2026 marks 75 years of the Chinmaya Mission — the Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav. On this milestone, the Chinmaya Gita Chanting Competition (CGCC) reaches a new height with its first International Level Competition, uniting participants worldwide under Pujya Gurudev’s call: “Chant · Study · Know · Live,” with all global centres aligning their schedules to the Bharat calendar for a unified celebration.

A Competition That Touches Millions

What began as a Bala Vihar initiative has blossomed into a cherished global tradition. The CGCC is now a central activity of Chinmaya Mission Centres worldwide, welcoming children, youth and adults alike — all united by love for the Bhagavad Gita.

Inspired by Gurudev's vision to "catch them young", the CGCC reflects Chinmaya Mission's holistic method: Chant · Study · Know · Live. Through this competition, Chinmaya Mission touches the lives of over a million families every year across India, USA, UK, Middle East, Australia and beyond
