The 3-Day National Youth Conference on Indian Knowledge Systems (NYCIKS–2026) is an academic initiative aimed at encouraging young scholars, researchers, practitioners, and students to engage with the diverse domains of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS). Hosted by Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth, the conference seeks to create a platform for meaningful dialogue, interdisciplinary inquiry, and scholarly engagement with India’s knowledge traditions.
Indian knowledge traditions encompass a wide range of disciplines, including philosophy, science, health, ecology, governance, language, and the arts. These traditions emphasise harmony between human life and nature, ethical responsibility, and the pursuit of knowledge for both individual and collective well-being. They continue to offer meaningful insights and solutions to contemporary challenges.
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has further strengthened this direction by promoting the integration of Indian Knowledge Systems into education, research, and pedagogy. It highlights the need to engage with indigenous knowledge in a systematic and meaningful manner. In this context, creating platforms for young scholars to explore and engage with IKS becomes especially important.
The National Youth Conference on Indian Knowledge Systems (NYCIKS–2026), hosted by Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth, is an initiative in this direction. The conference seeks to bring together young scholars, researchers, and practitioners from across the country to engage with various dimensions of IKS in an interdisciplinary and structured manner.
