The Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav Global Sammelan was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on 23 October 2026, marking a landmark moment in the year-long celebrations commemorating 75 years of the Chinmaya Movement. The Hon'ble Prime Minister was welcomed with Vedic chants, tilak applied by Swami Tejomayananda and gifts presented by Swami Swaroopananda.
Addressing the gathering while sharing the stage with Swami Tejomayananda, Swami Swaroopananda, Swami Viviktananda and Swami Mitrananda, PM Modi paid tribute to Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda and reflected on his enduring contribution to India’s spiritual and intellectual heritage.
A key highlight of the inauguration was the "lokarpan" of the “Ask Gurudev” Holobot, a lifelike 3D holographic representation of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda. Recalling his meeting with Gurudev in 1993, PM Modi shared how the experience of revisiting those memories through modern technology brought back a deep sense of connection with the revered teacher. He also recalled their conversation on harnessing the power of youth to build a strong and capable India.
PM Modi acknowledged Chinmaya Mission’s contribution to preserving and promoting India’s spiritual heritage and inspiring younger generations with its timeless values. He emphasised the need to strengthen these foundations to build a self-reliant society and realise the vision of a developed India.
The Sammelan also celebrates a full year of initiatives celebrating the Mission’s 75th anniversary. These include Chinmaya Gita Samarpanam that set a Guinness World record for collective online chanting; Gita Panchamrit, centred on five selected verses of the Gita; and the Chinmaya Amrit Yatra, undertaken to spread Gurudev’s message across the country.
