The Chinmaya Study Group, Bangkok, supported by Chinmaya Mission Centres in Hong Kong and Singapore, came together from 10–13 September 2026 for Shri Hanuman Mahotsav, organised as part of the Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav celebrations commemorating 75 years of the Chinmaya Movement.

Over 100 members of the Bangkok community participated in the four-day celebration, which brought together devotees, members of the Indian community, Thai friends and spiritual seekers in a shared spirit of unity.

The celebrations commenced with three days of insightful discourses on Sankat Mochan by Swami Avyayananda, Spiritual Guide of Chinmaya Seva Centre Singapore. Each day unfolded the deeper significance of the verses and the timeless values embodied by Shri Hanuman; devotion, courage, humility and selfless service.

The Mahotsav concluded with a Hanuman Chalisa Havan on 13 September at the India–Thai Chamber of Commerce (ITCC), the first such event to be held in Bangkok. As devotees came together in collective chanting and prayer, the Havan became a beautiful expression of bhakti and seva.

The Havan was graced by His Excellency Shri Puneet Agarwal, Ambassador of India to Thailand, as the Chief Guest and highlighted the importance of satsangs in strengthening India–Thailand cultural ties and preserving timeless traditions among the diaspora. He observed that “Such events deepen the civilisational bonds between India and Thailand. Our two nations share centuries of cultural heritage—from the Ramayana to the Ramakien, from temple traditions to performing arts. When communities come together in Bangkok to celebrate Hanumanji, it strengthens people-to-people ties, fosters cultural understanding and reinforces the warmth that defines India–Thailand relations. These celebrations become living bridges of friendship, shared values, and mutual respect.”

Shri Hanuman Mahotsav was a meaningful celebration, offering the Bangkok community an opportunity to come together with a shared purpose and embody the Yajna Spirit.
