Youth Empowerment Programme (YEP)

Chinmaya Mission’s YEP course is a one-year, residential leadership programme for young adults (18-28 years) based on values and service.

YEP has been designed as a spiritually oriented work-study programme aimed at creating nation-builders of tomorrow. The YEP programme builds self-discipline through an intensive and well-balanced routine comprising rigorous study, interactive & experiential learning activities, project work and self-reflection.

Salient Features

Free-of-cost: YEP is a ‘Free-of-Cost’ programme for youth 18-25 year old interested in self-growth. Chinmaya Mission fully sponsors the programme and provides for all the basic needs of the ‘Yuva Veers’ enrolled.

Gurudev believed that youth posses qualities such as dynamism, enthusiasm and an adventurous spirit that can create real change when guided well.

YEP is designed to unlock this potential by inspiring young minds to transform themselves and contribute to their Nation. Rooted in the philosophy of "Learn, Serve, and Grow," the programme equips participants with essential life skills, spiritual wisdom and leadership training.

Led by spiritual mentors, industry experts and experienced professionals, YEP offers a unique blend of Vedanta studies, basic Sanskrit, interactive workshops, team-building exercises and guided self-reflection. Past Yuva Veers enrich the experience by sharing insights on navigating life’s challenges and personal growth.

With the right vision and practical skills, rooted in compassion, empowered youth can become catalysts for positive change.

Foundation for Growth

The initial two and a half months of YEP is the period for learning.

The course is conducted at Chinmaya Mission’s Vision Centre, Chinmaya Vibhooti, in Kolwan near Pune.
✦
Chinmaya Vibhooti provides lodging, food, classrooms and outdoor space for activities.
✦
Students are introduced to a simple lifestyle that is conducive to learning. Medical facilities are also available on an as-needed basis.

Serve

Hands-On Experience

After training, students are placed at Chinmaya Mission Centres worldwide, assigned roles based on their strengths.

They gain hands-on experience in organizing camps, leading youth classes, creative writing, theatre, and rural service.

This phase allows students to apply their learning in real-world settings and develop leadership skills.

Exposure to diverse environments fosters adaptability, teamwork, and a spirit of service.
