About Sandeepany Himalayas

Missing {alternativeText}!!!

In 1978, Swami Chinmayananda established Sandeepany Himalayas at Sidhbari in the Kangra Valley, near the foothills of the Dhauladhar Ranges. The ashram is an expression of his love and gratitude to the hard working, pious mountain folk who had served countless sadhus across the ages. The Hindi Vedanta course prepares brahmacharis to teach and serve in the local area, and the Shri Rama temple and giant Hanuman murti are a much loved focus for devout locals and visitors.

Famous for its exquisite mountain setting, the ashram also hosts national and international spiritual camps for adults and youth from across India and abroad. Sidhbari Ashram holds a special place in the hearts of devotees. To many, it is simply Swami Chinmayananda’s ‘home’. Most significantly, in 1993, following Mahasamadhi, Sandeepany HIM ashram became the location of the sacred samadhi shrine of Swami Chinmayananda.

God Himself shines here as lakes and springs, as these tall peaks and crystalline streams.
