Experience a spiritual home for a world-wide family
Swami Chinmayananda’s hermitage at Sandeepany Himalayas was constructed when the ashram was first established in 1978. Gurudev’s health was fragile so devotees lovingly built a practical ‘home office’ in a style celebrating the tasteful, practical beauty that characterized his life.
The kutia is an elegant, welcoming space where Gurudev worked and shared the mountains with the world-wide Chinmaya Family. When he was in residence, the cottage was the pole star around which Vedanta students, campers, and workers revolved. Gurudev's still relaxed presence pervades each room.
Always in the company of Truth
The devotee who has his mind and senses under control is not enslaved by pleasure or pain. For him, his home is as good as a cavern in the Himalayas.
