Get refreshed and spiritually inspired
Imagine a spiritual retreat in the lap of the Himalayas, in the midst of enchanting pine woods, where the only sounds in the evening are temple bells. With its mountain backdrop, Sandeepany Himachal is an ashram established in the pace and mood of nature.
Welcome to a camp in Sidhbari!
Camps are generally week-long retreats led by a senior Swami of the Mission and might be held in English, Hindi or other languages for regional groups. Daily programs are full and include lectures on Bhagavad Geeta, Upanishads, Ramayan or Shrimad Bhagavatam as well as meditation and discussions in the delightful natural setting.
Spiritual camps are wonderful family retreats where campers get to meet the worldwide Chinmaya family and dive into the profound and life-changing wisdom of Vedanta with like-minded seekers.
When the mind gets detached from all worldly trammels, it becomes easy for that mind to gain the Divine experience, thereby enjoying the highest state of bliss.
Swami Tapovan Maharaj
Vedanta for body, mind and intellect
Days begin with guided meditation, followed by morning tea and sublime Vedanta classes. Programs include discussions and satsang with acharyas, and daily puja. Devotees are encouraged to commit to 'temporary Sannyas' as Gurudev called it, and put aside their day-to-day attachments and problems for the duration of the retreat.
Daily devotions conclude with evening arti at the Shri Rama temple and the Samadhi. Hindu festival days such as Holi and Janmastami are celebrated and Gurudev initiated a special tradition that each day would feature a cultural program, where campers , including children, share their diverse talents as an offering to the Lord.
Slow down, experience nature’s glory and just 'be'
