Chinmaya Mission San Jose hosted “Sing Gita, Live Gita”, a special Samashti Gita Chanting event on 6 September 2026, bringing together devotees and seekers for powerful collective chanting of Chapter 15 of the Bhagavad Gita - Purushottama Yoga.

Held as part of the Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav, celebrating 75 years of the Chinmaya Movement, the gathering offered participants an opportunity to come together in devotion and reaffirm their connection with the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita.

The collective chanting created an atmosphere of spiritual fervour as voices joined in unison, reflecting the spirit of unity, devotion and contemplation. Chapter 15, revered for its profound exposition of the Supreme Reality and the path to liberation, holds a special place in Chinmaya Mission’s Gita initiatives.

A major attraction of the celebration was the Gita Mela, featuring 18 interactive pavilions, each dedicated to a chapter of the Bhagavad Gita. The immersive experience enabled participants to explore the teachings of the Gita through engaging and meaningful activities.

The event also featured Gita Conversations, with four insightful sessions led by Chinmaya Mission Brahmacharins, offering opportunities for reflection and deeper engagement with the scripture.

Through the Bhagavad Gita Game Show, young students of the Gita also presented an awe-inspiring demonstration of the power of the mind, highlighting the transformative potential of disciplined learning and spiritual knowledge.

Adding to the festive and devotional spirit was a high-energy orchestral bhajan performance, layered with dance and music. The evening also featured a special devotional extravaganza by Shri Mahesh Kale, winner of India’s 63rd National Film Award for Best Playback Singer. His presentation of raag, natya sangeet and devotional music of the saints, brought together deep musical expression and spiritual celebration.

The event also echoed Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda’s vision of making the message of the Bhagavad Gita accessible and relevant to seekers across generations. Through chanting, study and reflection, participants were encouraged to take the teachings of the Gita beyond the event and into their daily lives.

The San Jose gathering was a meaningful expression of devotion and an unforgettable experience for every age and every stage, universal and deeply inspiring.
