The "Temple on Wheels" - Chinmaya Amrit Vahini received a grand welcome in Adoni on Saturday, 23 May, drawing thousands of devotees and creating an atmosphere of devotion, cultural celebration, and spiritual inspiration across the town.
The celebrations commenced with a grand motorcycle rally from the entrance of Adoni town to the Chinmaya Mission Centre. A vibrant presentation of the traditional Karnataka folk dance, Veeragase (locally known as Guggula) attracted widespread attention. The sacred Murti and Padukas were ceremonially received by former President Shri Vitta Ramesh Garu, Vice President Smt. Radhika Garu, Secretary Shri M. Raghunath Garu, and their families, followed by Paduka Puja Br. Narayana Chaitanya.
A major attraction of the event was the Virtual Reality Experience Stall organised by Chinmaya Yuva Kendra, Adoni. Visitors explored immersive presentations such as Gita Panchamritam for Gen Z, Ashta Siddhis of Shri Hanuman, and a special presentation on Gurudev compiled from Many Moods of the Master. The innovative initiative was particularly well-received by children and youth. The younger audience also benefited from interactive sessions conducted by Yuva Veers Srividya, and Sumukh, who shared inspiring experiences from their journey with the Amrita Vahini and encouraged youth participation in service and spiritual activities.
The evening session featured Amrit Vahini darshan, and inspiring talks, highlighting the legacy of the Chinmaya Movement and the significance of Gita Panchamrit by Swami Suveerananda and Swami Turiyananda. The MLA of Adoni, Shri Parthasarathi Garu, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, appreciated the efforts of the Chinmaya Amrita Vahini team in spreading Gurudev's vision and teachings.
Refreshing rain showers towards the end of the programme served as an unexpected highlight of the evening as devotees viewed this as a divine blessing. Despite the rain, the children continued their cultural performances with enthusiasm, presenting devotional dances on 'Gurudeva Tava' and 'Chinmaya Amrita Mahotsave' that were greatly appreciated by the audience.
More than 2,000 devotees were served Annaprasadam during the day, reflecting the spirit of seva and community that marked the celebrations.
The visit of the Chinmaya Amrita Vahini left a deep impact on the people of Adoni, inspiring devotees and strengthening their connection with the teachings and vision of Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda.
