
Chinmaya Mission Guwahati celebrated its Annual Day with great reverence and enthusiasm at the Chinmaya Auditorium, Kendra premises, Sixmile, Rukminigaon. The occasion was marked by the special launch of “Gita Panchamrit – Assamese Version”, as part of the Chinmaya Amrit Yatra, commemorating the 75th year of the Chinmaya Movement.
The Annual Day celebration served as a platform to acknowledge the milestones achieved by Chinmaya Mission Guwahati over the year and to express gratitude to its well-wishers for their unwavering support in carrying forward the legacy of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda. The Mission continues to uphold and propagate Vedic values, spiritual knowledge, and intellectual inquiry, creating a meaningful impact on society.
The programme commenced with the chanting of Shanti Path, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. The welcome address was delivered by Smt. Lalita Devi Jain, Vice President of Chinmaya Mission Guwahati, setting a warm and gracious tone for the evening. This was followed by an address by Shri R. S. Joshi, President, and a spiritual discourse by Brahmacharini Ananya Chaitanya.
On the occasion, distinguished personalities were felicitated for their notable contributions and achievements. Dr. Sanchita Sarma, Bronze Medalist at the Asian Open & Masters Powerlifting Championship, and Shri Shankar Lal Goenka, eminent industrialist and social worker, were honoured by Smt. Sangeeta Sarma, Principal, GNT Chinmaya Vidyalaya, and Shri R. S. Joshi. The President also expressed heartfelt gratitude to Shri P. V. S. L. N. Murthy, CMD, NEDFI, for his generous support towards the Mission.
The cultural segment beautifully showcased the rich heritage of Assam. Performances included a soulful Bhupen Hazarika song by the Devi Group, a Tokari Geet recitation by CHYK members, a dance on National Integration by Bala Vihar students, a yoga presentation by yoga students, and vibrant dance and song performances by students of GNT Chinmaya Vidyalaya.
A concise report highlighting Chinmaya Mission’s global activities and initiatives in 2025 was presented by Dr. Sunita Agarwalla, Secretary, who also conveyed special thanks to NEDFI for sponsoring the event. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Smt. Aruna Goswami of the Devi Group. The programme was smoothly anchored by Smt. Susree Das and efficiently coordinated by Smt. Shikha Chakraborty.
The celebration concluded with the distribution of Prasad, leaving the audience spiritually enriched and inspired.
