
Chinmaya Mission Madurai organised the release of Prashnottara Ratnamalika, an English rendering and commentary on the timeless work of Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya, authored by Swami Sivayogananda, at Chinmaya Meenakshi on 15 August 2026.
The programme commenced with an invocation and traditional lighting of the lamp. Industrialist Shri Jayapradeep introduced the book, highlighting its relevance in presenting the profound teachings of Advaita Vedanta in a simple question-and-answer format for modern readers.
The book was formally released by the Chief Guest Hon’ble Justice G. R. Swaminathan, Judge of the Madras High Court. In his address, he appreciated Chinmaya Mission’s efforts to preserve and disseminate India’s spiritual heritage through meaningful publications and encouraged readers to study the timeless wisdom of Adi Shankaracharya.
The first copies were received by Dr. D. Ramasubramanian, Former Professor and Head of the Department of Neurology & Neurosurgery, Madurai Medical College and Government Rajaji Hospital, and Dr. P. Krishnamoorthi, Head of the Department of Medicine, Meenakshi Mission Hospital. Both dignitaries spoke on the enduring relevance of Vedantic wisdom in leading a purposeful and balanced life. Shri S. Sankara Seetharaman, Managing Director, Visvas Promoters Private Limited, also addressed the gathering.
Delivering the benediction, Swami Sivayogananda explained the significance of Prashnottara Ratnamalika as a concise yet profound guide for spiritual seekers. He emphasised that Adi Shankaracharya’s teachings continue to inspire self-enquiry, right living, and the pursuit of Self-knowledge.
The book release brought together devotees, scholars, and well-wishers, marking a meaningful celebration of India’s rich spiritual and philosophical heritage.
