An exquisitely grand event was organised by Chinmaya Mission Prayagraj and the Maharshi Patanjali Group of Schools on 13 August, bringing the glories of Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda and the message of the Chinmaya Amrit Yatra to the people of the holy city.

Hosted at the prestigious Allahabad Medical Association Hall, the event was graced by Swami Abhedananda, Swami Mitrananda, Br. Sudheer, Brni. Tarini, Brni. Shashwati, dignitaries, Mission members, and nearly 600 devotees. Students of the Maharshi Patanjali Schools participated in large numbers, presenting a series of devotional offerings in remembrance of God and Guru. The programme included chanting of Gita Panchamrit, singing of the Amrit Yatra Anthem, a dance presentation on Madhurashtakam, and, most memorably, a skit on the life of Gurudev inspired by the film On a Quest. The performances evoked deep inspiration, emotion, and devotion, creating a beautiful atmosphere of Guru-Smaranam.

Swami Mitrananda then delivered an inspiring talk on the theme ‘Charaiveti’, highlighting the importance of living life to its fullest, remaining fully present in every experience without becoming attached, and moving forward while offering everything to the Divine. Through joyful and insightful anecdotes from Gurudev’s life, Swami Mitrananda brought his wisdom and presence vividly alive for the audience.

The gathering was further enriched by Swami Abhedananda’s inspiring address, ‘Swami Chinmayananda: Man, Master, Mission’. Reflecting on the profound austerity and surrender of Swami Tapovan Maharaj and Gurudev, Swami Abhedananda spoke of their selfless efforts to bring the wisdom of the scriptures to society. Highlighting the values embodied by the Chinmaya Mission, he remarked, “It is easy for us to be in Chinmaya Mission, but difficult for Chinmaya Mission to be in us!” He urged everyone to internalise the Chinmaya spirit and let it permeate every aspect of their lives, with the noble aim of bringing smiles to others.

It was a beautiful celebration filled with devotion, inspiration, and the timeless spirit of Gurudev that touched every heart.
