Chinmaya Mission Mumbai organised their 12th Bala Vihar Family Camp, Ganesha Pancharatnam, from 1-3 May 2026 at Chinmaya Vibhooti, Kolwan. The camp brought together children, youth and parents for a vibrant and spiritually enriching experience centred on the wisdom and symbolism of Lord Ganesha through Shri Adi Shankaracharya’s Ganesha Pancharatnam.
The camp deity, reverentially installed on the opening day and worshipped throughout the three-day retreat as Chinmaya Ganadheesh, became the spiritual heart of the camp. The programme commenced with a Samashti Ganapati Havan, where participants collectively offered ahutis with 12 chants of “Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha,” creating an atmosphere of devotion and auspiciousness.
Guided by Swami Swatmananda, along with the dedicated support of Brni. Maitreyi, Br. Samarth, Br. Param, and a committed team of Sevaks and Sevikas, the camp beautifully balanced learning, reflection and joyful participation. Insightful sessions such as Ganesha Myth Busters, Symbolism of Ganesha, and Ganesha and Management helped participants understand the deeper significance of Lord Ganesha and apply timeless spiritual values to modern life.
The camp also featured a variety of interactive activities including an Ashtavinayak Treasure Hunt, Ganesha Games, Superbrain Yoga, Chandra Namaskar, Dancercise and creative clay Ganesha-making sessions. The festive energy throughout the camp brought together devotion, creativity and enthusiasm across all age groups. Evening arati at the Pranav Ganesh Mandir and Chinmaya Maruti Mandir created moments of devotion and joy.
Participants also explored Swanubhooti Vatika, which encouraged self-reflection and introspection, while Chinmaya Jeevan Darshan inspired everyone through the life, vision and work of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda.
Adding further value to the camp experience, three specially designed booklets were released - one for Shishu Vihar toddlers, another for Bala Vihar children and teenagers filled with engaging activities and information about Lord Ganesha, and a third for parents featuring a commentary on Ganesha Pancharatnam by Swami Swatmananda.
On the concluding day the visarjan of Chinmaya Ganadheesh at Anand Sarovar, Swanubhooti Vatika, was a special highlight. Accompanied by devotional chanting and heartfelt gratitude, the programme symbolised both celebration and surrender.
More than just an event, the camp fostered a strong sense of community, devotion and self-discovery among families. Participants left with joyful memories, deeper connections, and a renewed inspiration, carrying the blessings and spirit of Chinmaya Ganadheesh into their daily lives.
