A landmark moment for the global Chinmaya Family in it's 75th year celebrations!

As part of the G20 Summit, in an exclusive session with selective community leaders in Johannesburg, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi interacted closely with Swami Abhedananda (In-charge, Chinmaya Mission South Africa).

Swami Abhedananda apprised PM Modi about the 75th Year Celebrations of the Chinmaya Movement and CM South Africa's tribute to Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda through the world’s first dedicated Annapoorna Devi Temple outside the Indian subcontinent, being inaugurated on 1 December 2025 in Durban, South Africa.

The Hon'ble Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the good work of Chinmaya Mission and its ongoing spiritual and social initiatives. With great admiration and reverence, PM Modi received an ornate Ashtalakshmi Kalasha filled with ‘Shree Anna’ (containing millets from India and South Africa) and offered it back to Swami Abhedananda to be placed in the temple, as a mark of his gracious support and goodwill towards the newly inaugurated Annapoorna Devi Temple and the ‘Nourish to Flourish’ mass feeding project in Durban.
