The inaugural session of Bioradiance 2026, the International Conference on Bridging Biology, Medicine and Biotechnology, was held on 30 May 2026 at the Senate Hall, Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre (PIMS & RC), Thiruvalla.

The programme commenced with a prayer, followed by a welcome address by Rev. Dr. Mathew Mazhavancheril, Director, PIMS & RC and Medicity. The gathering was presided over by Rev. Fr. Dr. Biju Varghese, CEO of Pushpagiri Medical Society and Director (HR & IT), who delivered the presidential address.

The conference was formally inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth, Prof. Manoj Kumar Arora,by lighting the ceremonial lamp. In his inaugural address, Prof. Arora emphasised the importance of cross-disciplinary, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research in addressing contemporary scientific and societal challenges. He highlighted that many of today's complex problems require collaborative efforts across multiple domains of knowledge and expertise.

Prof. Arora also stressed the importance of accommodating the needs and aspirations of Generation-C learners within academic institutions. He noted that teaching, learning and research ecosystems must evolve to support diverse learning styles, encourage innovation and provide meaningful opportunities for student engagement in research and knowledge creation.

The inaugural session also featured a felicitation address by Dr. Vikram Gowda, Vice Principal, PIMS & RC. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Ampadi A. N., Organising Secretary, Bioradiance 2026, followed by  singing of the National Anthem.

The inaugural session set a strong foundation for the conference by highlighting the significance of collaborative research, innovation and academic partnerships in advancing the frontiers of biology, medicine and biotechnology.
