On behalf of Chinmaya Mission Trinidad and Tobago, Swami Prakashananda received the National Award, Hummingbird Medal - Gold on 24 September 2026, from the President of Trinidad and Tobago, Her Excellency Christine Kangaloo. 

The Medal is awarded for loyal and devoted service to any field of human endeavour, gallantry or any humane action to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. 

Swami Prakarshananda was also greeted by the First Gentleman Kerwyn Garcia, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and Chief Justice Ronnie Boodoosingh. 

The Award has been received at the 57th National Awards, on the occasion of the 50th Republic Day Anniversary, and is offered at the Divine Feet of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda in the 75th year of the Global Chinmaya Movement.

Swami Prakashananda said, "The credit goes to all the countless sevaks in Chinmaya Mission who offer such wonderful service to Trinidad and Tobago through this great Mission started by Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda."
