29 and 30 November 2025 saw the transformation of the tranquil campus of Chinmaya Vibhooti (near Pune) into a vibrant sanctuary as 178 State-level finalists from 16 States gathered for the Chinmaya Gita Chanting Competition (CGCC) – Nationals 2025. Graced by the presence of Swami Swaroopananda, Global Head of Chinmaya Mission, the two-day gathering became a celebration of chanting, disciplined preparation and reverence for the Bhagavad Gita.

The CGCC emerged from the pioneering vision of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, who launched the movement in the early 1980s with the call: “Chant–Study–Know–Live.” What began as a modest initiative has grown into one of Chinmaya Mission’s most beloved offerings. This year, the competition reached over 3,00,000 participants across 2,500 schools, culminating in the National Finals.

Finalists from six age groups chanted Chapter 15 of the Bhagavad Gita with clarity shaped by months of preparation. A panel of trained Swamins and Brahmacharins evaluated the chanting with precision, sensitivity and a quiet encouragement that upheld the learning spirit of the movement.

In his benedictory message, Swami Swaroopananda emphasised that “the real victory is a lifelong relationship with the Gita.” His words framed the entire event as a yajna of learning, reflection and inner growth.

Chinmaya Vibhooti offered the children a warm and organised environment. Waiting rooms were arranged with age-specific activities, allowing younger participants playful engagement while older groups enjoyed Gita-based challenges. Sevaks from Navi Mumbai, Pune and Chinmaya Vibhooti along with the core team supported children and families with gentle guidance through every step.

A particularly memorable moment unfolded on the second morning, when all finalists chanted Chapter 15 on stage in the presence of Swami Swaroopananda. The collective resonance of the verses created an atmosphere that was deeply moving and unifying for participants, parents and volunteers alike. Families also experienced thoughtfully curated presentations throughout the weekend.
