As part of Chinmaya Yuva Kendra (CHYK) Noida’s Disconnect & Discover (DND) camp held in Uttarkashi from 2 June to 6 June 2026, 95 CHYKs came together in a spirit of service and responsibility to participate in a large-scale cleanliness drive along the banks of river Ganga near Tapovan Kuti Ashram, the sacred abode of Param Guru Swami Tapovan Maharaj.
The cleanliness initiative was organised at Kedar Ghat in collaboration with Lokendra Singh Bisht, an environmental and social activist from Uttarkashi associated with the Ganga Vichar Manch. The drive was conducted under the “Swachh Gaon, Surakshit Jalvayu” campaign, promoting awareness and action towards environmental conservation and the protection of water resources.
The initiative was inspired by Swami Devatmananda,Tapovan Kuti Ashram. The programme was graced by the presence of Swami Chidrupananda (Chinmaya Mission Noida), and Brahmachari Raghavendra Chaitanya (Chinmaya Mission Jhansi), along with Shri Prashant Arya, District Magistrate of Uttarkashi, and other distinguished dignitaries. Their presence encouraged the CHYK members to continue serving society with dedication and purpose.
The activity beautifully reflected the CHYK motto of “Harnessing Youth Potential Through Dynamic Spirituality.” With brooms in hand and hearts filled with dedication, the young participants cleaned a stretch of the sacred riverbank, contributing towards the preservation of Maa Ganga and demonstrating the power of collective youth action.
By bringing together spirituality, selfless service and environmental responsibility, the youth experienced how spiritual values can be transformed into meaningful action for the welfare of society and nature.
