Swami Shantananda

Inspired by Pujya Gurudev in the sixties, Swami Shantananda served him for almost two years as his travelling secretary. After completing his Vedanta course in Mumbai, he moved to Taiwan, where he managed his business while teaching Vedanta part-time.

In 1992, after receiving Sanyas from Pujya Gurudev, Swamiji dedicated himself fully to teaching Vedanta in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York area. He helped establish Chinmaya Mission centers in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Chinmaya Kedar (PA), and Chinmaya Vrindavan (NJ).

Swamiji has travelled across North America conducting Gnana Yagnas on the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Geeta. In 2001, he completed 50 Geeta Gnana Yagnas worldwide as a tribute to Pujya Gurudev.

He now serves as the President of Chinmaya Mission West, overseeing more than 48 centers in the US and Canada.
