The Chinmaya Amrit Yatra reached Siliguri on 16 July, bringing the timeless wisdom of the Gita Panchamrit to diverse sections of society through a series of inspiring programmes across six institutions. The day began with a gathering of over 150 members of the RSS and VHP, where Swami Mitrananda spoke on the sacred responsibility to protect Shastras, emphasising that Rashtra Seva is Bhagavan Seva. Throughout the day, the Yatris also conducted sessions with the Brahma Kumaris, students, teachers, and members of the Rotary Club, sharing the practical relevance of the Bhagavad Gita for daily life.

The programmes engaged nearly 750 students and 440 adults through talks on goal setting, mind management, stress management, inner excellence, and the role of an ideal teacher, all inspired by the Gita Panchamrit. Students and participants enthusiastically explored the Chinmaya Amrit Vahini, interacting with the Yatris and gaining a deeper appreciation of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda’s vision. The warm response across every venue reflected the universal appeal and transformative power of the Gita’s teachings.

What made the Siliguri visit especially significant was that the city does not yet have a Chinmaya Mission Centre. The entire initiative was made possible through the dedicated efforts of a group of 15 parents of CIRS students, whose devotion and selfless enthusiasm ensured the success of every programme. Expressing his heartfelt appreciation, Swami Mitrananda remarked that, with Pujya Gurudev’s grace now reaching Siliguri, the city holds every promise of blossoming into a vibrant Chinmaya Mission Centre in the years to come.
