A sacred Bhumi Puja ceremony was performed for the upcoming Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. The foundation stone was laid by Swami Swaroopananda, the Global Head of Chinmaya Mission, marking an important milestone in the Mission’s continuing efforts to provide value-based education in the region.

Along with the esteemed presence of diplomats and officials from the concerned ministry, the ceremony was attended by around 100 Chinmaya Mission members. The gathering witnessed the traditional rituals performed with devotion and reverence, invoking divine blessings for the successful establishment of the institution.

In his address on the occasion, Swami Swaroopananda expressed his happiness about the upcoming Chinmaya Vidyalaya. He emphasised that Chinmaya Mission’s vision of education goes beyond academic excellence and focuses on nurturing character, values and a sense of responsibility in young minds. He humbly dedicated the new Vidyalaya to Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda as part of the 75th year celebrations of the Chinmaya Movement. 

The proposed Chinmaya Vidyalaya strives to shape students into compassionate, disciplined, and capable individuals rooted in Indian culture and universal values.

The architectural design of the campus, prepared by Spark Architects, was also
presented during the programme through a detailed presentation. The design
highlighted a modern, thoughtfully planned campus that will support both academic learning and holistic development.

It was shared that the construction of the school will take place in two phases. The first phase will focus on establishing the primary section, with classes expected to commence in June 2027.

The ceremony concluded with prayers and expressions of gratitude as Shri Apparao, a senior Chinmaya Mission member, presented a vote of thanks to Swami Swaroopananda, the Trustees from Central Chinmaya Mission Trust, Mumbai, and all the other delegates.

The organisers and attendees look forward to the Vidyalaya evolving into a vibrant centre of holistic learning and value-based education for generations of students in the region.
