CCMTEC: Governing Body for Chinmaya Education

Headquartered at Chinmaya Gardens in Coimbatore, India, the CCMT Education Cell (CCMTEC) is the governing body of the Chinmaya Education Movement, a global education movement founded by Swami Chinmayananda.

Gurudev took a visionary step in establishing an education system that seamlessly integrated the best of traditional wisdom and modern learning, fostering intellectual excellence alongside strong moral and spiritual values. Keeping this as the foundation, CCMTEC implemented the Chinmaya Vision Programme (CVP), a vision-inducing programme which serves as the very spirit behind all activities of the Chinmaya Vidyalayas.

While modern education cultivates capable, intelligent and efficient individuals, the ancient Indian education system is rooted in a strong spiritual foundation.This holistic approach nurtures well-rounded individuals who excel academically while upholding integrity, discipline and a deep sense of purpose.

Under CCMTEC, there are 81 Chinmaya Vidyalayas in India & 1 in Trinidad, 9 Chinmaya Colleges and 14 Chinmaya Vision Schools.

Chinmaya Educational Institutions are affiliated with various Universities and boards, including International Baccalaureate (IB), CBSE, ICSE, and State Education Boards, ensuring high-quality education.

Vidyalayas

The first Vidyalaya, founded in 1965 in Kerala, is now a higher Secondary School and is considered the best in Kollengode.

There are now 81 Chinmaya Vidyalayas across India, catering to over 89,000 children. They fall into various categories; some are in remote rural places and others in the hub of a metropolis. Two Chinmaya Harihar schools provide free education including vocational education for village children.

International Reach
The first Chinmaya Vidyalaya outside of India was inaugurated in 2003 in Trinidad. Welcoming students from diverse backgrounds, including American and Chinese. It’s students have earned numerous prestigious awards.

Chinmaya Vidyalayas are 'Schools With A Difference' (SWAD) and their unique holistic vision programmes create students with a difference.

Our schools focus on the learning environment: a well-designed curriculum with excellent infrastructure and up-to-date equipment that help facililtate effective teaching and lead to successful learning.

Schools in rural areas cater to the specific needs of local families. Inspired Principals, dedicated teachers, supportive management and cooperative parents head these institutions.
