It was a truly extraordinary gathering of spiritual luminaries representing the great global Hindu tradition at Chinmaya Mission Chennai's Sadhu Sangamam programme held on 10 May 2026 at Tapovan Hall, Chinmaya Heritage Centre. To witness the reverence, affection and camaraderie among the revered leaders towards Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, was deeply uplifting and inspiring.

Swami Shashishikhananda of the Ramakrishna Mission declared with conviction, “Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda is the second Vivekananda.”

Swami Amrita Swaroopananda of Amritanandamayi Ashram beautifully observed that Swami Chinmayananda’s patriotism was never rooted in mere emotion, but in a profound understanding of what Bharat offers to the world — a timeless spiritual vision for humanity.

Madhu Pandit Dasa of ISKCON shared a remarkable incident from the life of Srila Prabhupada. He recounted how Prabhupada had instructed his Western devotees to approach Gurudev and seek his support in appealing to the Kerala temple authorities for entry into Guruvayoor and Padmanabhaswamy temples. Swami Chinmayananda, standing firmly for the universality of Sanatana Dharma, wrote to the authorities urging openness and inclusiveness.

Swami Avadheshananda Giri of the Juna Akhara offered a profoundly moving tribute when he said, “Swami Chinmayananda is the Jnana Hamsa avatara of Shri Adi Shankaracharya.” 

Moments such as these serve as a reminder that Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda’s life and work continue to inspire and unite the Hindu world across traditions, institutions and continents.

During the event, the book "Incoming Call 108" was released by the respected Swamins. It is a heartfelt commentary on the Chinmaya Ashtottara-shata Namavali (108 names of Swami Chinmayananda).
