As part of Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav 2026, commemorating 75 years of the Chinmaya Movement, Chinmaya Mission Amritsar organised a grand Hanuman Chalisa Havan under the inspiring theme “Chant Amritsar - Shant Amritsar.” 

Envisioned as a “once in a lifetime event”, the spiritually charged gathering at the DAV College Sports Complex, Shastri Nagar, witnessed thousands of devotees participating together in collective Hanuman Chalisa chanting for the peace, prosperity and spiritual upliftment of the holy city of Amritsar.

The event was graced by Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab, as the Chief Guest, while Swami Chidrupananda (Chinmaya Mission Noida) attended as the Guest of Honour. Dr. Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh (Retd. IPS), MLA, was present as the Special Guest.

Other distinguished dignitaries included Priyanka Sharma (Senior Deputy Mayor), Bakshi Ram Arora (Former Mayor), Kriti (Councillor), and Dr. Amardeep Gupta (Principal of DAV College).

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Chairman Avinash Mohindru welcomed the gathering and described the occasion as a historic milestone in the 75-year spiritual journey of Chinmaya Mission.

In his address, Swami Chidrupananda highlighted that the Hanuman Chalisa is not merely a devotional hymn, but a timeless guide that inspires discipline, devotion, service and positive living.

Hon'ble Governor Gulab Chand Kataria appreciated the initiative and remarked that such spiritual gatherings strengthen social harmony, positivity,and unity while encouraging the younger generation to imbibe the noble ideals of Lord Hanuman.

Following the Havan, students of Bhavan’s S.L. Public School presented a short skit depicting episodes from the life of Shri Hanuman, which was warmly appreciated by the audience.

The programme concluded with the Chinmaya Pledge, Aarti, Shanti Mantra and the National Anthem, leaving devotees immersed in devotion and collective spiritual energy.
