Swami Dattapadananda of Chinmaya Sandeepany, Chokkahalli, Karnataka conducted a Jnana Yajna (series of talks) in Abhaya Hasta Ganapati Temple, Kengeri, teaching Gopika Geet from 20 to 26 July 2025. The talks were inaugurated by Smt Kamalamma, senior member of Chinmaya Mission.

Swami Dattapadananda explained that Gopika Geet is the ardent cry of the Gopis of Vrindavan when Lord Krishna calls them for Rasakreeda and disappears observing their ego and body consciousness. It demonstrates how pure love transcends the material plane, getting converted to total and absolute surrender. It takes the devotee to an unexplainable level of consciousness where all physical, emotional and intellectual prowess is forgotten, transporting the seeker to a divine union with the Lord.

The Gopis lament ardently for the Lord, remembering all His exploits, victories, strength, conversations and intimate moments spent in helping them in their time of need, and they urge Him to bless them again with His presence. There is absolutely no difference between pure love and true devotion.

The talks were well attended.
