
The School of Contemporary Knowledge Systems (CKS) of Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (CVV) organised Ascending to Excellence 2.0, a landmark academic event celebrating student achievement, faculty excellence and institutional growth on 7 January 2026. The programme brought together university leadership, faculty members, students, parents, institutional partners and school representatives, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of the school.
In the welcome address, Prof. Manjula R. Iyer, traced the academic evolution of the School from its inception in 2017 with B.Com. and BBA programmes to its present status as a professionally oriented and research-active School. She highlighted key milestones including the integration of ACCA in 2021, the restructuring of B.Com. (Hons) in 2022 and the launch of B.Com. (Hons) with International Accounting in 2024. She also noted the School’s growing research strength, having produced three PhDs with three more ready for award.
In his inaugural address, Prof. T. Ashokan, Hon’ble Acting Vice Chancellor and Dean Academics. drew from his extensive academic and administrative experience, and emphasised discipline, perseverance and values-based education as the foundations of excellence. He appreciated the School’s consistent academic outcomes, professional orientation and commitment to quality benchmarks aligned with national education goals.
The major highlight of the programme was the formal launch of the B.Com. (Hons) with Capital Market programme. A teaser presentation introduced the vision and scope of the programme, after which Dr. Veena M., the proposed Programme Director, presented the academic structure, industry relevance and career opportunities associated with the programme, underscoring CVV’s responsiveness to the evolving global financial ecosystem.
The Dean’s Message was delivered by Prof. Sunitha Grandhee, Dean – Student Affairs, who spoke on holistic student development, discipline, well-being and the integration of academic excellence with ethical and value-based learning. Dr. P. Rajendran, Registrar and Director – Accreditation and Quality Systems, highlighted CVV’s quality assurance mechanisms, accreditation initiatives and institutional commitment to measurable academic excellence.
The programme then moved to the recognition of 33 ACCA achievers, celebrating their academic rigour and professional accomplishment. Five students were honoured as ACCA Affiliates, having cleared all ACCA papers: Devika Krishnan, Sasang B. Hariharan, Ashutosh Srinivasan, Anjali P. Varma, and Niya Vinu Panicker. Eight students were recognised for clearing 12 ACCA papers, placing them one step away from affiliation. Seven students were honoured for clearing 11 ACCA papers, and thirteen students were recognised for clearing 10 ACCA papers
Faculty achievements were also formally recognised during the programme.
Dr. Sanitha A.C., Assistant Professor, was honoured for her professional accomplishments including Chartered Wealth Manager (CWM) certification, Diploma in Indian and Foreign Accounting, and CMA India (Intermediate). Faculty members were further felicitated for prestigious national-level NPTEL awards. Dr. Renju Chandran received the NPTEL Superstar Award, Enthusiast Award and Discipline Star Award; Dr. Sanitha A. C. received the Enthusiast, Discipline Star and Believers Awards; Dr. Jiji K. P. received the Enthusiast Award (received on her behalf); and Dr. Soumya Varma received the NPTEL Believer Award.
Student feedback was shared by achievers highlighting the role of faculty mentoring, professional integration and institutional support at CVV. Parents expressed appreciation for the academic environment, discipline and career readiness fostered by the School.
The event concluded with a group photograph and a closing prayer, leaving participants with a renewed sense of purpose, pride and commitment to academic excellence.
