My Attitude Youth Camp – CHYK Ahmedabad

Led by Br. Atharvana Chaitanya ji, Chinmaya Yuva Kendra (#CHYK) Ahmedabad, concluded a series of 12 – one day youth camps Called “MY (Mind Your) life” touching upon 12 different aspects of life with the goal of bringing about a positive inner transformation in youth. The grand finale of the series was done with camp titled “MY Attitude”. Youth from all over the city gathered at ParamDham Ashram on a scorching hot Sunday to discover the key to success called “The right Attitude”.
Everyone appreciated that one’s thoughts, feelings and actions build one’s attitude and vice versa, so the key of creating the right attitude lies in the individual’s choices alone. Group discussions and activities beautifully brought out the point that one can change one’s attitude and remain happy and contended forever!. Through inspiring videos the youth learned that it is only an individual’s attitude that connects him/her to the network called- society and that the attitude alone helps one to tap one’s inner potential to find peace within and harmony around.
Br. Atharvana Chaitanyaji, explained relevant verses from Shrimad Bhagvad Geeta and highlighted the importance of “the attitude of gratitude” and “the power of acceptance”. The members of the executive committee of the Chinmaya mission family encouraged CHYKS by offering generous donations and by gracing the inauguration of the camp with their presence.

The ‘Yagnatorium’ is an inflatable and portable structure inside which a 12-minute animated video on aspects of Hinduism is projected on the ceiling, recreating the effect of a planetarium.

It would visit 150 cities in the next one year. The bus has a photo exhibition on the life of Swami Chinmayananda.

“The ‘Yagnatorium’ provides an innovative platform using which children get to know the importance of our culture and tradition. Inauguration of Matsya Narayana Temple – Uthandi, Chennai

In the Birth Centenary Year of Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji, Chinmaya Tarangini was inaugurated by Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayanandaji on 24th May, 2015 at Uthandi, Chennai.

Speaking at the Mahasamprokshanam of the Sri Matsyanarayana Dhyana Niketan, Pujya Guruji said that the land in which the temple has come up was donated to the Chinmaya Mission over 25 years ago. Now that this temple has come up that we know Matsya Bhagavan has chosen this place to live here in the special year of the centenary.

Guruji said that in the Bhagavatham there is one chapter devoted to the Matsya Avatara and there is a whole Matsya Purana that tells the story and teachings of Matsya. It is very apt particularly for this age that we have this temple because it is the Vaivasvata Manvantra or the reign of the Manu Vaivasvata. When there was a cosmic deluge, Vaivasvata Manu or Satyavrata was informed by the divine fish of the great deluge. It asked Manu to build a big ship and asked to put the seeds of creation in the ship. When the deluge finally came as predicted, the fish told Satyavrata to tie the ship to its horn and they continued to swim in the waters of the deluge together.

This story only goes to say that Matsya Avatar is that of the Guru and it is very apt indeed that this temple is part of the project for Gurudev’s birth centenary celebrations, Pujya Guruji said.

Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda, Swami Shantananda, Swamini Gangananda and Swami Mitrananda were present at the Kumbhabhishekam.
