Akhanda Gita Jnana Yajna Feb 2015 – Bangalore

40th Yajna:

The fortieth Yajna in the Akhanda Gita Jnana Yajna series to celebrate Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda’s birth centenary celebration in Bangalore was conducted in Kannada by Pujya Swami Poornaprajnananda, of Tiptur centre from 01/02/2015 to 07/02/2015 taking Selected Shlokas from Bhagavad Gita in the evenings at Subhash Bhavan, Rajarajeshwari Nagar. The Yajna was inaugurated by Dr. V Rajagopal, senior philanthropist.
The essence of Bhagavad Gita is to destroy our body consciousness and elevate the thinking of our mind to the supreme reality. When a person with intense urge to seek the profound knowledge loses all interest in the attractions of the outer materialistic world and surrenders to the realised Master, he is sure to be blessed with the infinite wisdom. It is only then that he realizes his limited capacity and revels in the glory of the unlimited vision of the Lord. The scriptures serve as pointers to indicate the right path that the sadhak can take to understand the Truth and merge with the Brahman. This is possible only through selfless service to society and clear understanding that everything in the world belongs to the Lord who has been compassionate to allow us enjoy the same for our fulfillment.
The Yajna was well attended.

41st Yajna:

The forty first Yajna in the Akhanda Gita Jnana Yajna series to celebrate Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda’s birth centenary celebration in Bangalore was conducted in Kannada by Pujya Swami Adityananda, of Mandya centre from 08/02/2015 to 14/02/2015 taking Bhagavad Gita Chapter 12 in the evenings at Twinklers Vidyaniketan, Nagarbhavi Extn. The Yajna was inaugurated by Prof. G S Mudambaditaya, senior philanthropist.
Bhakti is glorified and considered better than Jnana for a Jnani with his knowledge can face the world and get back to tranquility with a little contemplation and introspection. The devotee who is totally dependent on Him needs His support at each stage. Though the goal is same the worship of God without form is difficult for the sadhaka soaked in body consciousness. It is important to perform actions without attachment. A real Bhakta practices to rise above the pairs of opposites and tries to remain calm in joy and sorrow. Shraddha is ultimately necessary to any form of spiritual practice and a true devotee continues to perform actions holding the Lord as the Supreme Goal.
The Yajna was well attended.

42nd Yajna:

The forty second Yajna in the Akhanda Gita Jnana Yajna series to celebrate Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda’s birth centenary celebration in Bangalore was conducted in Kannada by Pujya Swamini Sampannananda, of Sagar centre from 15/02/2015 to 21/02/2015 taking Bhagavad Gita Chapter 12 in the evenings at East Point Academy, Kalyan Nagar. The Yajna was inaugurated by Smt Rama Devi, trustee of the Academy.
Knowledge and Devotion are two sides of the same coin. One without the other is not complete. A realised Master is a complete picture of devotee and a true devotee sees the Lord in all manifest forms. It is necessary to attain this complete knowledge through regular sadhana, satsang, selfless work and abandoning fruits of action. Only such a person will be able to rise above the dualities of life and reach the state of Jivanmukta.
The Yajna was well attended.

43rd Yajna:

The forty third Yajna in the Akhanda Gita Jnana Yajna series to celebrate Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda’s birth centenary celebration in Bangalore was conducted in English by Pujya Swami Hamsananda, of Hubli centre from 22/02/2015 to 28/02/2015 taking Bhagavad Gita Chapter 3 in the evenings at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, St. John’s Road Cross, Ulsoor. The Yajna was inaugurated by Vidwan K Srinivasan, renowned Sanskrit scholar and philanthropist.
The reason for all suffering in the world is because of our wrong identification leading to Raga, Shoka and Moha prompting us to seek peace and happiness in the impermanent world. Our shastras declare that we are the ocean of Sat Chit Ananda which can be experienced through selfless dedicated work in the true Yajna spirit which will lead to chitta shuddhi and help one to transcend the Gunas while working in the outer world. It is absolutely necessary to master the senses through control of mind and intellect. Only then it is possible to experience the Absolute Truth.
The Yajna was well attended.
