Mahashivaratri was observed in Chinmaya Mission, Bengaluru at Sripaadakshetra, J P Nagar with all religious fervor and rites throughout the day on Friday, 24th February, 2017 in the divine presence of Pujya Swami Brahmananda. Mahanyaasaadi Poorvaka Ekadashavara Rudrabhisheka was performed in the morning between 6.00 am and 11.00 am followed by day long nonstop bhajans and devotional rendering by different groups till 6.00 pm. Ekadashavara Rudrabhisheka was again performed between 6.00 pm and 9.00 pm followed by bhajans and devotional rendering till 12.00 midnight when the final aarati drew curtain to a very auspicious day and weeklong celebrations which had commenced on 17th February, 2017. The entire day saw devotees coming from different parts of the city seeking blessings of Lord Shiva. The decoration of the entire temple and the beautiful flowers arrangement was appreciated by more than 3000 devotees who lined up throughout the day.
