Mahashivaratri at NOIDA

The NOIDA centre celebrated this festival of Lord Shiva, the presiding deity of Centre throughout the day with abhishek, archana and havan. Early in the morning there was a Rudra homa.  At 10 a.m. there was Rudrabhishek for three times with various items like water, milk, curd, ghee, sugar, honey, panchamrita, fruit juices, coconut water and vibhooti.  This was followed by archana. Apart from the main Shiva Linga, there were other 12 shiva lingas set up all over the premises, each representing a jyotirlinga. While the main puja was performed in the Shivalaya, devotees offered abhishek and archana on these jyotirlingas making the entire centre Shivamaya.

In the evening the Swaranjali members sang bhajans. Later in the night there was abhishek and archana with Sw. Chidrupanandaji’s soulful chanting of the 1008 names of Shiva. Towards midnight all lights were put off. There was chanting of Om Namah Shivaya and the Maha arati was performed accompanied with resonating conch and bells.
