Chinmaya Yuva Kendra Jaipur organised an Inter-School Patriotic Song Competition, “Shraddhanjali-2014” on the occasion of Independence Day on 12th Aug. 2014.CHYK Jaipur has been organising this even for almost 15 yrs now. Venue for the event second time consecutively was Tagore International School, Jaipur.
Twenty schools of Jaipur including Neerja Modi, SMS Vidyalaya, Maheshwari Public, Tagore Public, Janki Devi, Gyan Vihar, Defence Public, Cambridge Court and Tilak Public School etc participated in this event. This even is organised in two categories – Solo and Group. All teams presented their patriotic songs and shook emotions of everybody present there. Along with patriotic song presentations some questions mainly related to myrters and freedom fighters were asked from present audiences and on the spot prizes were given to the winners.
In group song category first, second and third prizes of Rs. 5000/-, Rs. 3000/- and Rs. 1000/- respectively were won by Sanskar School, SMS School and TPS Vaishali Nagar. While in solo song category first, second and third prizes of Rs. 1000/-, Rs. 750 and Rs. 500/- respectively were won by Neerja Modi School, Defence Public School and TPS Shastri Nagar. A running trophy was also given to winners in Group Song category while other trophies were given to all those who stood First, Second and Third in both categories. Participation certificates were given to all participants. Ex-President of Chinmaya Mission Jaipur, Brig. P. K. Gupta (Retd.) kindly donated Rs. 21,000/- for prizes and other expenses.
Director of Tagore Group of Institution, Sh. P. D. Singh ji was given special thanks along with Principal of Tagore International School, Ms. Kamal Rathore for their exceptional support for all CHYK activities.
A Chinmaya Vani stall was also organised at the venue with display of books especially for Balvihar and CHYKs. Almost all Mission committee members and CHYKs were present on the occasion and contributed to make this event a success.
